Todd Tolkinen is Vice President, Commercial Operations for Drax Biomass. He is responsible for U.S. legal matters, risk and compliance, corporate administration, and assists with business development opportunities to help further Drax Group long range goals.
Todd joined Drax Biomass in May of 2018 after working as an independent consultant to the company the previous year. He has over 25 years of power plant experience which started with 6 years in the U.S. nuclear Navy, and the last 10 years in biomass. Most recently, Todd consulted for Consolidated Asset Management Services (CAMS) where he managed the transition of the German Pellet-Louisiana bankruptcy, and for American Biocarbon pellet project.
Prior to that he was the Director of Technology Development for Zilkha Biomass where he led development activities around coal power plant conversions. Todd also served as Vice President of Commercial Operations & Supply Chain Management, and Director of Maintenance & Engineering for a biomass power plant in Minnesota from 2008 until 2012.
Todd holds a Juris Doctor from Hamline University School of Law, a Business Management Degree from the College of St. Scholastica, and a State of Minnesota Chief ‘A’ Engineers license.
